AA GSO Advice on Digital Meetings

Who we are…

Our website address is:   We’re a team of regular AA members bringing AA to other regular members in challenging times.  We are centered in the San Gabrial Valley in LA county, California, but anyone who is an alcoholic is welcome to join our meetings. Please regard all meetings as closed meetings for the time being.   More info at the end of this document.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We work hard to protect your privacy and anonymity.  Thus, there are no logins to this site for meeting attendees and we don’t ask for PII such as your email address.

If you join by phone, your phone number will not be visible to others in the meeting.  We do not record meetings, nor can meeting attendees.

No uploads, images or avatars are allowed, for privacy and anonymity.

You should know that AA General Service Office in NY (our top HQ) suggests that you not share your face on video on the internet, but many good members do choose otherwise.

Cookies are used to provide basic site services.  No tracking cookies or cookies that attempt to compromise your privacy are used.  These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

For admins and meeting secretaries that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Who we are (again)

We are a team of regular AA members, led by Ron R. of Alhambra, CA, a former GSO/CSO servant with 33 years sober.  Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome: – your help would be especially welcome!
